Traffic Court

A schedule of the minimum amount due for certain traffic offenses is listed under the schedule of fines. Charges not listed require a court appearance. You MUST come to court on the date and time shown under “Court Appearance Information” on your traffic ticket or pay the ticket BEFORE your court date.

Court Appearance:
District Court of Russell County
Russell County Judicial Center
501 14th Street
Phenix City, Alabama 36867

Alabama’s On-Line Traffic Resolution System (OTR) allows you to select one of the options available to RESOLVE your ticket online instead of physically appearing in court on the court date shown on your traffic citation (ticket).

If you have been charged with any offense listed on the Schedule of Fines, you have the option to submit payment prior to your court date. Payments must be made in full and received by the clerk no less than 24 hours prior to the date your case has been scheduled. You may choose any of the following methods of payment:

  • Credit card, online: Alapay
  • Credit card, by phone: 1-877-252-7294
  • Payment (in person) or by mail: MONEY ORDER or CASHIER’S CHECK only (NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED)
Payable to: Jody Sellers, Circuit Clerk
    501 14th Street,
    Phenix City, AL 36867

Failure to pay or failure to appear in court on the date and time indicated on your traffic ticket will initiate one or more of the following actions without further notice to you by the Court:

  1. Late fees shall incur on all cases that are paid on or after the original court date unless otherwise ordered by the Court,
  2. Your bond will be forfeited,
  3. Your driver’s license will be suspended and will not be reinstated total fines and costs have been paid in full. Alabama Department of Public Safety requires that a reinstatement fee be paid in addition to any and all monies due to the Court.
